On August 7, 2022, chess prodigy V Pranav, who won the Limpedea Open in Baia Mare, Romania, became the 75th Grand Master of India. The Romanian competition was won by the chess prodigy, who earned 7 out of a possible 9 points, which was enough to pass the GM norm. By winning the Limpedea Open in Baia Mare, Romania, the 16-year-old Pranav achieved his third and last standard to become a Grandmaster.
Jagdeep Dhankhar is the 14th Vice President of India-
India's 14th vice president has been chosen, and his name is Jagdeep Dhankhar. He had previously held the position of governor of West Bengal. Margaret Alva, the candidate for the opposition, received 182 votes against Jagdeep Dhankhar's 528.

On World Biofuel Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the newly constructed 2, G Ethanol Plant, at Panipat Refinery in Haryana. Through video conference, PM Modi dedicated the 2G Ethanol Plant to the country. The invention occurred at a time when India has prioritised the manufacture and domestic use of biofuels.
Corbevax approved as Booster dose-
The Corbevax vaccine from Biological E has received approval from the Health Ministry of India as a preventative dose for adults who have already received the COVID-19 vaccination utilizing Covaxin and Covishield. Adults who are above the age of 18 can now choose to get the Corbevax vaccination as a preventative dose.
Nitish Kumar takes oath as Chief Minister of Bihar-
On August 10, 2022, in the Rajendra Mandapam inside Raj Bhavan, Nitish Kumar, the leader of the Janata Dal (United), took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the eighth time. Shashi Tharoor, a senior Congress politician and member of the French parliament from Thiruvananthapuram, has been awarded the highest civilian distinction bestowed by France, the Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur. The French government has reportedly chosen to honor Congress leaders for their publications and speeches.
