MoU Signed To Introduce 'Ayurveda' Disciplines In Veterinary Science: Government
The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and the Ministry of AYUSH signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce the concept of Ayurveda and its allied disciplines in veterinary science.

Animal Husbandry in India
- According to the Economic Survey 2021, livestock contribution had increased from 32% in 2014-15 to 28.63% in 2018-19.
- According to the 20th Livestock Census, the total livestock population in India is 78 million. India has the most livestock in the world.
- In June 2020, the Government of India established the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund. It was established with an outlay of Rs 15,000 crore.
- The Government of India has launched the National Animal Disease Control Program. This program was established for brucellosis, foot and mouth diseases. Around Rs 13,343 crore was allocated for this program.
- The National Livestock Mission was launched in 2014-15. It was established to ensure qualitative and quantitative improvements in the livestock production system.
- The National Artificial Insemination Program was started to suggest innovative ways to introduce impregnation to female breeds.
