eSanta: Platform for Marine Products
Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal has recently launched a platform called "eSanta" for marine products. The main objective of this platform is to empower aqua farmers.

- Farmers can sell their produce in eSanta portal.
- It will act as a bridge between buyers and farmers.
- The eSanta portal eliminates the need for intermediaries.
- The portal is available in languages such as English, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Odia and Bengali.
- NaCSA took the initiative to launch the eSanta portal.
NaCSA
NaCSA stands for National Center for Sustainable Aquaculture. It is part of the Marine Products Export Development Authority - MPEDA, which functions under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The main objective of NaCSA is to encourage and uplift small and marginal farmers through groups and adopt best practices in shrimp culture.
Benefits of the Portal
- Modern equipment and techniques will help increase shrimp production from the current 40,000 tonnes to six to seven lakh tonnes.
- The portal will benefit 18,000 farmers who are currently contributing to the country's maritime exports.
eSanta Portal Required
Aquatic products are exported to the US, European Union, China, Japan and other Asian countries. Despite ranking second in aquaculture (aquaculture) globally, aqua farmers in India face difficulties getting the best prices from the market. This portal will help to overcome this problem.
