Who Is S Nambi Narayanan - The Man Madhavan Portrays in ‘Rocketry’

Recently a trailer of a film called 'Rocketry' has been released. The film S. Nambi is based on the life of Narayanan. Actually, Nambi Narayanan is a scientist of ISRO, and he was falsely accused of espionage in 1994. Due to which he had to struggle a lot. Later in 2018, the Supreme Court of India ordered the Kerala government to give Rs 50 lakh to Nambi Narayanan as compensation. Besides, the Kerala government awarded him a compensation of Rs 1.3 crore separately. Apart from this, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Vibhushan in 2019. He played a significant role in the development of ISRO's development engine.

S. Nambi Narayanan

S. Nambi Narayanan is a scientist and aerospace engineer. He was born on December 12, 1941, in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. In 1994, he was accused of selling intelligence to two Maldivian intelligence officers, including flight test data for rockets and satellite launches. Along with him, D. Sasikumaran was also accused of this. Both of them were accused of selling intelligence information for crores of rupees. In May 1996, the CBI dismissed the charges against him. In 1998, the Supreme Court also rejected this charge.

In 2001, the National Human Rights Commission ordered the Kerala government to compensate Rs 1 crore to Nambi Narayanan. He retired in the year 2001.
