Over 27 lakh doses of Corona Vaccine administered in Teeka Utsav's First Day
27 lakh 69 people were vaccinated across the country on the first day of the vaccine festival. On April 11, 2021, the Tika Utsav started across the country, which will last for four days.
What is Teeka Utsav?
Teeka Utsav is a festival. It will be held between April 11, 2021, and April 14, 2021. The main objective of this festival is to get more and more people vaccinated. It will also focus on the zero dissipation of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign in India
- Currently, the three states are achieving the maximum COVID-19 dose. They are Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
- COVAXIN and COVISHIELD are the two major COVID-19 vaccines currently being used in India.
- India has shipped over 64 million doses of vaccines to around 84 countries in the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa. The primary recipient countries of the Indian COVID-19 vaccines are Mexico, Canada and Brazil.
- The Government of India plans to include 250 million people in the "high priority" category by July 2021 as part of its immunization program.
COVAXIN
COVAXIN is a government-supported vaccine produced by Bharat Biotech. Its efficacy rate is 81%. More than 27,000 participants have participated in the phase three trials of the COVAXIN vaccine. COVAXIN was prepared from the dead COVID-19 virus and is given in two doses. The time interval between doses is four weeks.
COVISHIELD
AstraZeneca produces the COVISHIELD vaccine. Locally, COVISHIELD is being produced by the Serum Institute of India. It was created from a weaker version of a common cold virus called chimpanzee's adenovirus. The virus looks like the COVID-19 virus, which is applied in two doses.
